To enable access to secure web content through our FortiGate firewall, you will need to install a security certificate on your device. Follow the steps below for your type of device for instructions for installing the certificate. If you have issues with this process, email itsupport@easternmennonite.org.
On your computer, download the FortiGate Firewall Certificate.
Right-click on the certificate file, and choose Open. You may see a Security Warning window. If so, choose Open.
The Certificate window will appear. Click Install Certificate...
Select Local Machine and click Next.
On the next screen, select Place all certificates in the following store, then click Browse. Choose the Trusted Root Certification Authorities store. Click OK.
Click Next, then Finish to complete the certificate installation process.
On your computer, download the FortiGate Firewall Certificate.
Click on the certificate file in your browser, or double-click the certificate file in Finder (called Fortinet_CA_SSL.cer).
The Add Certificate window will appear. Click Install Certificate...
Choose a Keychain (System is recommended) and click Add.
You will be asked to verify your password to modify the Keychain. Enter your password and click Modify Keychain.
The Certificate is added to the Keychain. Ensure you can see the certificate in the list.
In Keychains, click System, then in Category click Certificates.
The System - Certificates are listed.
Double Click on the Certificate you just installed.
The Certificate Detail window will be displayed.
Click on >Trust.
The Trust section expands.
Click on the When using this certificate: drop down list, and choose Always Trust.
All of the Drop-Downs will change to Always Trust.
Click on the Exit button (Red, top left corner of window).
You will be asked for your password to verify the change.
Enter your password and click the Update Settings button.
In the Certificate list, the Certificate should now show that it is trusted.
Close Keychain Access to complete the certificate installation.
On your Chromebook, download the FortiGate Firewall Certificate.
In the Chrome browser, navigate to chrome://settings/certificates
The Certificate Manager window will be displayed.
Click the Authorities tab.
Click the Import button.
In the lower left corner of the window, click the pop-up menu (it probably says something like "Base64-encoded...") and select All files.
Locate the certificate file you downloaded in step one (called Fortinet_CA_SSL.cer), and click Open.
In the Certificate authority window that appears, tick Trust this certificate for identifying websites and Trust this certificate for identifying email users.
Click OK to complete the installation of the certificate.
NOTE: This process may vary slightly, depending on the version of iOS that you are running.
On your device, download the FortiGate Firewall Certificate.
The device will show a message: "This website is trying to download a configuration profile. Do you want to allow this?"
Tap Allow.
The device will show another message: "Review the profile in Settings app if you want to install it."
Tap Close.
Open the Settings app.
Underneath the User details for the device, tap Profile Downloaded.
The Install Profile screen will be displayed.
In the top right corner, tap Install.
If the iOS device has a passcode set, the device may prompt you to enter it.
A certificate warning will be displayed.
Tap Install. If a second prompt is displayed, tap Install again.
The Profile Installed screen is displayed.
Tap Done.
Go to Settings > General > About > Certificate Trust Settings (at the bottom of the page).
The installed Root Certificates will be displayed in a section entitled "Enable Full Trust for Root Certificates." There is a slide button next to each certificate.
Tap the slide button next to the certificate you just installed.
A confirmation dialogue will be displayed.
Tap Continue to finish the process.
NOTE: This process may vary from device to device, depending on the version of Android that you are running and what brand of phone you have.
On your device, download the FortiGate Firewall Certificate.
You may be prompted to confirm your Pin Code, Pattern, or Fingerprint.
The Name the certificate pop up will be displayed.
Enter a name for the certificate (such as "EMS Firewall") and tap OK.
Open the Settings app.
Go to Security > Trusted Credentials, and tap the User tab
If the certificate is present in the list of User certificates, then the certificate installed correctly.
